Hopefully these doggies have provided the correct answers to your questions 🐶
How long can I have in your paddock?
You can book in 30 minute intervals, so 2 slots for 60 minutes. Be mindful that this includes dogs in/out of car, leads on etc.
Where are you located?
We are located between Longside and Longhaven. We are pretty central, as we are 6 miles from Peterhead, 8 miles from Mintlaw, 20 miles from Fraserburgh, 12 miles from Ellon, and 24 miles from Bridge Of Don.
How do I find you?
Up to 4 dogs are allowed in the standard booking, whether it`s the 30 or 60 minute slot.
How do I book an hours slot?
You add the 2 adjacent 30 minute slots that you want, to your Cart.
Are there toilet facilites on site?
No, sorry there are no toilets at Pounding Pawz.
Is there water available?
Can I get a refund?
Sorry, bookings are non-refundable but we can offer you an alternative slot when it suits you, subject to availability.
IF YOU USE WHAT3WORDS APP: Its `spider.tent.crank`
OR From Peterhead: take the Aberdeen road. After you pass the Longhaven School, take the first right turn, signposted Gask. Go up there until the end, where you stop at a T junction, where you then turn left then first right turn. We are up there, just over a mile, on the right. Its about 50 metres behind the house with the big wooden extension.
From Aberdeen/Ellon: head towards Peterhead. After you pass through Hatton, take the second turn off to the left signed Longside/Gask. Follow this road for approximately 3 miles and take another left turn signposted Longside. From there we are just over1 mile, up on the right, about 50 metres behind the house with the wooden extension.
From Fraserburgh/Mintlaw/Longside: head through Longside towards Peterhead. After the Flushing straight, you will pass Leiths concrete on the Left, and just after that you take the Right turn signed Dens/Cruden Bay. Take this road over the staggered junction, then after approximately 3 miles you will see us on the Left side, about 50 metres before the house with the wooden extension.
Our sign is at the end of the track, just drive down the track to the parking area and paddock. We hope to see you soon 🐶
How early/late can I make a booking?
There are no limits on when you can book. However, if booking at the last minute, make sure you get your confirmation email with padlock code. If you don`t get that email, then your slot is most likely not booked. Any issues, call or message me, but be mindful that I am not always available.
How many dogs are allowed in the standard booking?
Can I meet up with my friends and their dogs?
Yes you can, just use the drop down menu that asks for`number of dogs`, on the booking page. And if it`s for an hour, add 2 of those time slots to your Cart.
Yes there is a water tap in the paddock, for drinking only. Please don`t use this to wash down your dog, as it will eventually leave a muddy mess!
Will there be other dogs there?
No, it will just be you and your dog(s) in the paddock during your time there.
Are there any livestock nearby?
There are sometimes cows in one of the adjacent fields, but they are not always visible. The rest of the paddock is surrounded by arable land.
Do you provide poo bags?
Ideally you should bring your own, but there will be an emergency supply in the shelter, up on a wee shelf. There are also small rolls of poo bags, dotted around the paddock.
Can I get a discount when booking regularly?
No discount can be given when booking, but if you book 10 hourly (or 20 half hourly) sessions, then we offer you a FREE hour session (or 2 half hourly), to be used at your convenience (we just need some prior warning so we can block it off for you). For XL Bullies, this will be after 5 hourly (or 10 half hourly) sessions, to qualify for the FREE hour.
Can I bring an XL Bully to your paddock?
Yes you can book Pounding Pawz paddock for your XL Bully, but from 23/2/24, he/she must be muzzled in the car; and on a lead and muzzled from/to the car and to/from the paddock. You can bring other dogs from the same household too. In this situation, the lead and muzzle can be removed once securely in the paddock.
However, if you wish to join other dogs from another household, then the XL Bully must remain muzzled and on a lead AT ALL TIMES, and you must have a 1:1ratio i.e. one XL Bully to one owner/handler, and the other collective of dogs would need their own owner/handler. This is what is stipulated by my insurance.
PLEASE NOTE: From 31/7/24, you will need an Exemption Certificate, or have applied for one, for your XL bully and you will require public liability insurance. The XL Bully must also be microchipped and neutered (age appropriate). These further rules, and the process have yet to be confirmed by the Scottish Government, so this will be updated once that is advised.
